Personal Training

After your initial assessment and consultation which includes measuring blood pressure and heart rate, I will prepare a detailed training program focusing on the areas that we decide need attention, be that fitness, strength, weight loss, body image or rehabilitation.

The aim is to make exercise fun, with plenty of encouragement and motivation, giving particular attention to maintaining correct body posture to prevent injury.

Where will we do it?
We will train predominately outside, starting from your front door, which gives a number of benefits over
driving to an air conditioned gym, namely:

• Fresh air ensures your body is working harder
• Natural hills and obstacles increase cardiovascular effort
• Unlike a gym, you only pay when you use the service
• It’s much less boring than a gym!

We will combine aerobic and resistance exercises to improve muscle tone which in turn increases your metabolic rate, strengthens your heart and increases your V02 max lung capacity.

All in all, you’ll feel great!

It is not only important to set goals that are realistic and achievable, it is also necessary to devise a method to quantitatively measure the results. However, the most essential element of any form of exercise must be fun. If you enjoy the sessions, you will certainly get more out of them.

How often should I train?
I recommend that you have one supervised session a week, with a program that incorporates simple exercises in between. However, the regularity of your sessions is entirely up to you and can be more or less than once per week. You can also share your training sessions with your partner or friends.

Massage

A therapeutic massage will do you as much good as a full training session, and ideally the two should be combined in a balanced health and fitness program. I specialise in two kinds of massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Swedish Massage.

Full Body Deep Tissue/Sports Massage - 1hr: £50
I start this curative massage with an assessment of posture problems and key triggers, which lead to pain and lack of mobility. A deeply invigorating treatment to alleviate even long term pain, I will also advise you on exercises and stretches that will enhance the results and ensure the benefits of the massage continue to last.

LomiLomi Full Body Massage - 1hr: £50
This holistic massage originated in Polynesia. I use specialist, deep, sweeping, massage moves, using my forearms to create waves of relaxation. Coupled with gentle stretching and kneading, this massage is both relaxing and reinvigorating.

Swedish Full Body Massage - 1hr: £45
This massage is carried out on a heated couch, by candle light. A soothing, gentle treatment leaving the whole body and mind releaved of tension and anxiety.

Back, Neck and Shoulder, Deep Tissue/Sports Massage - 30mins: £35
In this massage I work deeply into the problem areas, such as sciatica, I manipulate tension spots and eliminate knots and pain. This effective treatment can be part of a course (discount applies). The long term benefits of corrective massage mean you will be free of pain and enjoy far greater flexibility.

Relaxation Back Massage - 25mins: £30
Soothing away tension and encouraging relaxation is the main purpose of this massage.

Think about it, what better way to finish off a vigorous work-out than with a relaxing massage, in the comfort of your own home or at The Beauty Therapy Centre?
